MTB_3 - Benafim Quinta do Freixo Alte Algarve

Exiting ATTE facilities torwards east/north we make a small detour by km 6 in "Moinhos da Pena" 2 old windmils in a viewpoint with 180º degress scenery views facing south and the ocean  over the surrouding mountains, we then had back tougher and much more technical tracks and single tracks till we reach  Quinta do Freixo by km 10 with it's 700 hectares, the biggest agricultural property from the algarve.

By km 18,5 and just arriving to the Village of Alte, we pass trough Fontes de Alte, with its crystalline waters from the Ribeira de Alte forming a small river beach that welcomes refreshing baths and leisure.  km 20 we take a short break by "germano biciarte café" in Alte, a small and cozy coffee shop intirely dedicated to the ciclist where we can have a bite and refresh.

We then head south where by km 30 we find a fantastic single track quite technical along "Ribeira de Algibre" for aprox. 5 km before heading back nort to Benafim trough some tough & rockery tracks. By km 44 we arrive back in Benafim where we can choose to go directly to ATTE and finish or enjoy an extra 8 km loop trough faster gravel tracks, some part of the famous GR13 (Via Algarviana ), and facing a last hard climb somewhere in the middle of this last kms.
